Constructing Hope Pre-Apprenticeship Program Appoints Noah Koné as Deputy Director

Portland, OR – Constructing Hope is proud to announce the expansion of its transportation fleet with the purchase of two Ford E-Transits and one Kia EV9, made possible through the PGE Drive Change Fund. This investment in electric vehicles (EVs) enhances the organization’s commitment to sustainability while increasing accessibility for program participants. Additionally, two new EV chargers have been installed at the Constructing Hope facility to support the growing transition to electric transportation.

Constructing Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to providing pre-apprenticeship training and career pathways in the construction industry, recognizes the importance of reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining reliable transportation for students and staff. The addition of the Ford E-Transits and Kia EV9 will enable the organization to continue serving the community efficiently while promoting clean energy solutions.

“Receiving this grant from the PGE Drive Change Fund is a significant step forward in our mission to create sustainable career opportunities,” said Patricia Daniels, Executive Director of Constructing Hope. “By incorporating electric vehicles into our operations, we are not only reducing emissions but also exposing our students to the future of green technology in construction and transportation.”

The PGE Drive Change Fund, supported by the Oregon Clean Fuels Program, helps organizations like Constructing Hope integrate EVs and charging infrastructure into their operations, advancing environmental responsibility and equitable access to clean transportation.
