We provide construction career training to 80 adults each year, place at least 65 in new careers, and provide career retention and advancement services for 60-70. We serve 25 high school youth through our summer program.

ADULT CONSTRUCTION TRAINING
No-cost, 10-week, construction skills and life skills pre-apprenticeship construction training program for disadvantaged men and women.
CAREER ADVANCEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Construction pathway jobs that lead to apprenticeships, and other employment. Through construction apprenticeships, our graduates secure good-paying jobs in careers that can be mastered without a college degree. Three years of career placement, mentorship, and supportive services.
YOUTH SUMMER PROGRAM
Five-week program for skills, motivation, and career awareness to enter a career path in the construction trades.
Registration Details
You must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- U.S. citizen or legal resident, plus possess appropriate work permits
- High school diploma or GED
- Reading and math functions at 8th-grade level
- Be physically, socially and mentally capable of meeting training and employment expectations
- Pass drug screening
- Possess or be capable of acquiring a state driver’s license and/or auto insurance
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (effective January 2022)
- Attend a Virtual Informational Session
- These occur EVERY Monday in-person @ 1:00pm and Friday virtually @12pm.

- Fill out an application and provide the required documentation (see below)
- Applications are provided at the Informational Session.
- Complete the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) test (Starting In 2023)
- The NCRC test can be taken at any WorkSource Portland Metro location.
- During the application process, you can provide either your test scores, if you have already taken the NCRC test, or the date you are scheduled to take the NCRC test.
- In order to start class, you must have taken the NCRC test and provided your test scores before the first day of class.
- If you complete the application, provide the required documentation, and at least schedule the NCRC test, you will be scheduled for an interview.
- Be interviewed
- If you are accepted into the current class, attend the WorkSource Portland Metro orientation (scheduled by Constructing Hope), which will include verifying income, prior to the start of class.
- Copy of driver’s license or state identification card
- Copy of high school diploma or GED certificate (if working on GED, provide proof of tests completed)
- Copy of NCRC test scores or provide date on which you will be taking the NCRC test
- IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE BRING ALL DOCUMENTATION TO THE INFORMATIONAL SESSION.
