“Don’t Stop Believing”
For Chelsea, Constructing Hope opened the door to what once felt like an unimaginable life. Throughout her life, Chelsea faced many challenges and setbacks, to a point where she was houseless, struggling to find food, security, and sobriety. Now, three years later, she is buying her first home with her daughter, continuing her education, and working as a heavy equipment operations engineer.

While her dad was in the construction business and she had experience helping him on jobs as a young girl, she felt intimidated being a woman in the trades. Trade workers often get labeled as rough around the edges, and Chelsea believed that as well until she took the leap of faith and began working in construction. She now says that everyone’s loving and great, “every company is like one big family.”
Chelsea is the perfect example of drawing on her faith, support system at Constructing Hope and using that to surpass every barrier.
